Charles McQuiggan — President

Chuck graduated from Eastern Illinois University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology. Additionally, he did post-graduate studies in Organic and Bio Chemistry at Millikin University in Decatur, IL.

Through a series of events, Chuck owned and operated a grocery store and later a wholesale produce company in a small town in Southern MO. Chuck says that he became the least favorite son-in-law when in 1987 he sold his business and home to move his family to Dallas, TX to attend Bible College.

One of his sayings is “Life has a way of bringing all things together”. In 1989 he was offered a job to work in the Insurance Industry and he & his family relocated to Edwardsville, IL. At this position, he received training in Surety Bonds and Insurance, eventually becoming Surety Bond Manager for the agency. In 1993 he became a partner in Assurance Brokers, Ltd and later President of the Company. “The tables have turned and my Father-in-Law is once again proud of me” says Chuck.

Assurance Brokers, Ltd. began as a professional agency providing for Insurance and Bonding for the Construction Industry with specialty in Environmental Contractors. “Today we have grown our agency to be all of the above and we have expanded the business by developing our personal lines departments of home and auto, life and health, and financial planning”.

Chuck has been married to his wife Bev for 36 years and together they have shared the joy of raising 5 children – one who is a senior in high school. They are also proud grandparents of 8 grandchildren.
